A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson

I like the words below, actually I think I first got it thru email, but only with the following sentences: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure."

I tried to search the Internet, and found below. There have been postings as well in the Internet that this was from Mr. Nelson Mandela, but actually these words were from the book, A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson. I am definitely going to buy my own copy in the future.

Below is from the website of Marianne Williamson. From her site, you can see that she has a lot of very nice books as well...
--------------------------------
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

The Importance of Financial Security

I've recently learned that to become financially secure - one must have invested right. Investing right comes in either two ways - putting your money on the right savings or on the right business.

Right Savings

A lot of talks has currently been out there on investing in mutual funds and other high earning types. I still also have a lot to learn about this though - but I will be checking this stuff out and learn how to go about it.

Right Business

This is the second way to invest your money right. One must be careful in finding a business for himself. Not all business are bound for success. A lot of planning should go into this before you actually invest.

Being Financially Secure

It would be nice, don't you think to be financially secure? Yet, this is not as easy as it seems. True you can save some - but it might not be enough to carry you through for years to come. That is why it is important to invest in the right savings - and in the right business.

The Importance of A Well-Balanced Life

In the course of your life, you may find yourself going over a routine day by day - and find the day being over so fast. You find you have less time available to do all the things that need to be done. What makes this worst, is that you are unable to spend a good amount of time on things that matter most to your life.

Knowing Your Priorities

First and foremost, you should know what is important for you. Family, friends and your health are generally considered "essentials" in one's life. But most of all, you should also consider establishing that relationship with God.

Essence of Life

What is your purpose in life? Is it only making money? And having a grand life afterwards?

How about making a connection with God? And making the world a better place for the less fortunate?

It is best to live life according to the standards - or near it - as set by Jesus. As much as possible, we should try to imitate Jesus' Way of Living. And if possible, if we should leave the world - we should have made it a little better that it was before.

A Well-Balanced Life

Living life is essentially about living it in balance. You should be able to create a good balance and do a good juggling act at that for your material, emotional, physical and spiritual needs. While we need to satisfy our basic needs and some worldly desires - we should also be conscious of our greater responsibility to answer to a Divine Call of Obedience to Our Lord - and helping in spreading His Word all over.

Bible In Your Computer

I have recently been trying to search over the internet, websites that offer softcopies of bibles for free.

I was able to download one - from bible.org. You are only required to register at their website - and downloading the file is free.

I now have a bible in my computer that I can frequently browse at. This ensures that I get to receive the Word of God, even in the Digital World.

Check www.bible.org - and see for yourself.

Have fun reading the Bible!

Living Your Dream - And Thanking The Source of It All

The irony of it all - is that when you get what you prayed for - you will at times take it for granted.

For so long a time you have prayed hard for God to bless you - and now that you have what you want, you find yourself having less time (or maybe no more time at all) to pray.

Thanking Him for the graces and praising Him seems to no longer fit your schedule - you feel you are so busy to even find a small amount of time to spend time with Him. Worst of all, you no longer go to mass or take time to read His Word - The Bible.

Even though you know you are straying away, you feel helpless to get back on track.

Yet, all it needs is the will to do what is right - it only needs for you to do the first step and give praise to the One who made your dream a reality.

Go Back To The Source - You'll be right back on Track!

What I learned from today's homily...

About work and business:

The priest said that in work, we should include God with it. Rarely does one succeed by mere human efforts alone - if one should however be able to do so, his gains are of worldly matters, and when Judgement Day comes - he will still be found wanting.

The homily talked about the value of putting God in the center of our lives. In the end, the true measure of one's success in this life - is whether one has lived it according to God's plan.

Coincidence:

I also happened to read upon a chapter in the book, Winning (Jack Welch - GE CEO), about work and life balance. Jack Welch admits of the difficulty of effectively meeting that balance - perhaps this is a continuing challenge for everybody in the workforce even up to now.

My take:

When one is driven, when one aspires for excellence in his field of endeavor - there are sacrifices one has to make along the way. And most of the times, these are supposedly the most important - our relationship with our family, and even friends. And yet we choose our career/business over our wives/children/parents - all for what we consider to be what is urgent for the time - losing our focus on what should matter most.

I believe, having a sense of priority and knowing what these are - God first, family second, and work third - will be to ones benefit in the end.

Holy Week - We're Going To Church

It is holy week. My wife and I will be going to around 3 churches today to pray.

We strive to keep God the center of our lives and of our relationship. We know that without Him, life would be meaningless.

God first, all others come second... "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all things shall be added unto you.."

As I've also seen in the local television last night, Bro. Archie said to the effect - that God will not give based on your needs, but based on your faith. This is enlightening for me.
